CEC10 (2)The Department of General Services has created a new tool for state agencies to use as they continue to reduce state government’s collective environmental footprint.

The State Administrative Manual now features a central location (Chapter 1800) for state policies that are focused on sustainable building operations and practices. Users will find resources enacted pursuant to Governor Brown’s green building executive order and green building action plan, which calls upon state government to reduce grid-based energy purchases for state-owned buildings by at least 20 percent by 2018.

The manual includes policy guidance ranging from indoor air quality and energy reduction in state buildings to water conservation and efficiency. The material will be updated as additional sustainability policies are released.
