JN6The Department of General Services has released new guidelines designed to enhance energy efficiency in data centers and server rooms at state-owned and leased buildings.

The guidelines – a result of Governor Brown’s green building executive order which calls for more energy efficient state buildings and operations- will help state agencies improve the efficiency of their facilities, reduce costs, and reduce their impact on the environment.

The guidelines were developed by DGS in cooperation with the California Department of Technology, California Energy Commission, California Environmental Protection Agency, CalRecycle, and the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research.
