Overseen by the Department of General Services, the California Green Lodging Program encourages state and local government travelers to seek out and give preference to certified green hotels.

Watch a short video about the program.

As of December 2014, DGS has certified more than 200 “green hotels” throughout California: these hotels have a smaller environmental footprint due to energy efficiency upgrades, water conservation measures, recycling programs and much more.

Need lodging during your next trip on state business? Then consider going green! See the Green Lodging Directory.
