The Department of General Services has released new guidelines designed to reduce energy use in new building design and construction; major building alterations and building additions; existing state-owned buildings, and new and renegotiated state building leases.

The guidelines – a result of Governor Brown’s green building executive order which calls for more energy efficient state buildings and operations- will help state agencies improve the efficiency of their facilities, reduce operating costs and reduce state government’s impact on the environment.
