Danetta Jackson, DGS small business and disabled veteran business enterprise (DVBE) program manager, has been honored with the “Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year Award” by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Danetta and her team within the DGS Procurement Division work with small businesses and DVBEs statewide on how to do business with state agencies. The SBA award recognizes individuals who have helped create a climate conducive to small business success.

State agencies purchase a wide variety of goods and services ranging from cars and computers to temporary labor.  Annual purchases total nearly $10 billion.  The DGS Procurement Division is the central purchasing authority for state agencies.
