The state of California has been honored once again as one of the top government green vehicle fleet operators in North America.
The state’s fleet was named 30th greenest out of 50 public sector fleets during the annual Green Fleet Conference held in Ohio earlier this month.
California has been honored with the Government Green Fleet award several times in the past decade. The award competition, which is open to all federal, state, and local governments, is judged based on seven categories: fleet composition, fuel and emissions, policy and planning, fleet utilization, education, executive and employee involvement, and supporting programs.
The award nomination, submitted on behalf of the state by the Department of General Services, highlighted California’s commitment to sustainable fleet operations and purchasing policies.
