DGS connected small businesses with state government contracting opportunities for the first-ever 2016 Winter Business Showcase and Agency Fair. The event was held Feb. 24 at DGS headquarters in West Sacramento.
More than 130 business professionals and more than 50 attendees participated in matchmaking interviews and provided presentations to an auditorium audience with state purchasing professionals.
The event was hosted by Tanya Little, the governor’s appointee to the DGS Procurement Division’s Business Development program.
Little partnered with Jesse Torres, Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development; Roberto Herrera, California Department of Veterans Affairs; Courtney Adams and Julia Gutierrez, Franchise Tax Board; Rich Zmuda, Department of Water Resources; Janet LaPerle, California State Teachers’ Retirement System; Marie Ramos, Department of Forestry and Fire Protection; Alicia Sequeira Smith, Department of Transportation; and Nina Martinez, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
The Business Development program manager collaborates with state agencies and a variety of business groups to enhance commerce with small businesses and disabled veteran business enterprises, and underrepresented business groups.
