DGS grounds crews are clearing brush on the south side of the Capitol after a cedar tree toppled early this morning.

No one was hurt.

There was little damage to the nearby kiosk that serves as one of the entrances to the underground parking garage and loading dock.

Repairs to the kiosk’s barrier arm gate are underway.

DGS crews are also working to re-open the nearby walkway.

DGS manages the Capitol building and is committed to ensuring the safety of all people on Capitol grounds.

The wood will be chipped to be used for organic gardening purposes.
